18th Birthday!

So yesterday was my 18th. The most exhausting yet thrilling birthday of all.

I went to Drayton Manor with my close friend Jenny for the day. We got there about 10:15, and qued up quickly for Shockwave.
Walking around with "happy 18th birthday" badge on and my gaga bag.
It was extreamly hot, which is always good for a day out, and for that reason we had to go on the loggy about 2 times. First time we sat at the front and didn't get much wet, on the second time around we sat at the back and got fully drenched!
Well...we asked for it! haha!

Me & Jenny won 2 duckies, mine is a sailor ducky and jenny's was a mr cool ducky!

The day was full of excessive screaming, over loaded drinking & cool down ice creams.

A few hours after we got back we got all dolled up in dresses and make up, ready for a night out for a meal.

Friends & family joined together to celebrate my birthday.

My sister handed me a sparkly cup cake bag, as I searched through the over loaded sheets of colourful paper I found my present. A teddy bear. It had a white fluffy hat and bag and inside the bag was some keys.
It had attached to the keys a key ring saying "Melissa" then another key ring saying "the car".She had given me her old red K.A
I was so shocked and everything that evening was so over whelming that I cried!
My sister started welling up and we supported each other with a big hug! =]

My sister took me outside and showed me my car. It had a lovely pink ribbon round the roof. I got in and turned the engine on. Unfortunatly I couldn't drive as I already had been drinking.

Sitting there with my 18 balloon attached to the chair I was sitting in with all my friends and family surrounding me, it was the best place I ever could be.

Out of nowhere the waitresses and waitors came over holding a Lady Gaga cake saying "happy 18th birthday Melissa" with three candles lined across the top. They told me to shout out my name and it's my birthday, so on count to three I faced everyone in the resturant and shouted "My name is melissa  and it's my birthday!" then I blew my candles out and the waitresses started singing to me.

Me cutting the first piece of the cake!
It was a fantastic night and I would never change a thing about it. Being surrounded by the people who make my life worth living truly makes you thankful for having them there in your life.

Last Day Of 17

My last day of being 17. It's a "sunny de light" kinda day, I woke up this morning with a cold! A day before my birthday and I get a cold....that would happen wouldn't it!

It's scary. It only seems yesterday that I was celebrating my sister's 18th. I remember the family meal, the big suprises, the thought that my sister was growing up. And tomorrow that will be me.

Everyone says that your teenage years are the worst. For me it's the best!
It's the years to have addictions, to love, to idols, to hardcore partys and life.

The years to love everyone who you come across, to still be immature, to try out different looks of your appearence and to think over the top from what you want in life because you know your young enough to get away with it!

The years to stress and be moody way too much over the littleist things and blame it on "that time of the month"

It's the years to live before working 24/7.
The years to not take on TOO much responsiblity.

Right now I love life <3 :)

Inspirations and ideas from my iconic idol

I saw the video to bad romance and I was inspired by gaga's image here. They have edited her pupils to make them look big and I think it could work with the photoshoot, as it creates an "alien" look.

I love her look here. Using colours like silver and gold with lots of sparkle could be worth thinking of using for the photoshoot to create the "sci fi" feeling to it.
I also love the hairstyle!

In this picture I love how her shoulders are covered with silver and golden circles and then the change from that to gold paint. Using different texture's creates a weird and yet wonderful look. Also I like the idea of using masks.

Again, we could use the idea of one of the models being carried and then editing the person holding the model into an illustated alien.

Different Layouts & Effects Of The Sci Fi Photoshoot.

I like this idea of having the models holding a gun. Also I love the highlight of the colour of her hair. This is definately an idea that I would love to use.

This effect reminds me of something of The Matrix. So instantly I get the feel of "sci fi alien" theme.

This picture looks like the woman in the middle is the whole picture, but the 2 women on either side look like they have been "cut out" and stuck down.

I like this picture with the numbers looking like the image has been made up by them. Also I like that he is holding a spaceman.

Sci Fi Hair & Make Up

This is not only make up on the face but they have done it so it's over the head which really brilngs that sci fi alien theme together. It's like the pattern is the skin which is very"alien" style.

I love this effect. Black and white but standing the colours out which draws people straight in to the effect of the make up and her eye. I also love the effect of the lips. The texture looks like it's right out there where you could touch it.

The hair style shows effort and time that has been put into this. It straight away reminds me of something like star treck. Alien heads are kind of known to be quite big at the top of the head and the shape of this makes her head look bigger again to create that alien effect.

This picture brings so much effect. So much detail has been put into this. The texture of it looks "straw like" meaning it looks quite rough. The effect of the colours as well looks quite dull with the black and the green.

SCI FI Fashion

This is my favourite outfit. It looks robotic and the colour silver is very popular when relating to sci fi.

Here is an outfit and as soon as I saw this i instantly got the sci fi feeling to it. I think because of the colours. Silver and gold are kind of "alien" colours. The effect makes it look shiney and the texture looks silky. You can imagine an alien looking and feeling like that.

This outfit stood out out of every picture I've seen. I think you all will agree when I say it's different, weird and out of this world! Very original and has that "alien" feeling to it.

This obviously doesn't stand out as much as the others, but it is something which we proberbly could find to use in the photoshoot. The silver, stripes and shoulder pads all combine together to create the "sci fi" theme.

I love everything about this. It all seems to be facing down and in a straight line. The shoulders to the bottom of the dress are in line and the hair complete's the look to make it feel more in line. The hair stands out very well and I think we could use this for the "alien" look.

Last but not least, we have this photo. Something about this stands out to me. It's all very strange. I don't think there is a single but that loosk "normal". She looks like she is painted gold on he legs and stomach whilst she has the golden gloves. Then she has on the top again with the shoulder pads. And then she has the "mask" covering her mouth which I love because it's almost like you don't know what she's hiding but you know she is hiding something for it to be covered. Also to complete the look is the hair. Very different and strange. Personally I love this look!

Music!

I love music.

Music that's new, fresh and upbeat. Music that's the future.
That we won't be able to stop playing on our ipods.
Music that we can't force to forget.
Music that's old, classic and legends.
Music that takes you back to those days.
That was the latest thing back in them days.
Music that were huge and the future will never know just how mind blowing they were.

Today I can't stop listening to Oasis mixed with Robbie Williams. Both individually fantastic.

Oasis is brilliant to sing along too and Robbie Williams, well, he just takes me back to my younger days. He was very popular in the 90's. I just remember hearing him everywhere.

Today I'm having a very obsessive day to go back to the past and re live it all. So far I have been searching online for vintage and hippie clothing. I  am a very old fashioned person! Also I am tempted to rumidge through my old home videos and watch them.

I just can't imagine life without music. I even love listening to depressing songs, because it just helps me at times let my emotions come all out, as most times I find it hard to.
Love songs help me gaze and fantasize about being in love. I guess it's something which I long to desire.
Even dark/gothic music like Marilyn Manson Is good enough for me. It makes me feel like a hardcore goth which to me makes me feel strong, independant and sexy.

How terrible would the world be without music?

Music in a way helps you express yourself and allows you to become someone you wish to be or the person who you really are but hide away from the rest of the world.

So put some good old music on to dance the night away...
